We would like to invite your children to be a part of Second Baptist's KidsLife Program. We understand the importance of teaching children about Christ. We desire that they will grow in faith, their love for God will increase daily, and they will learn better how to respect and love others. Second Baptist Church offers a variety of ministries that will help develop godly character in your kids.
Sunday mornings at Second, we work to provide your children with 2 hours of solid, Biblical teaching. Combining an hour of worship and learning through Worship KidStyle with an hour of graded teaching in Bible Teaching for Kids, your kids are grounded in a particular Bible passage, verse, and life application. These 2 programs work together following the "Levels of Biblical Learning" by LifeWay to meet certain goals for your child's growth in Biblical knowledge. Worship KidStyle meets during both the 9 o'clock and 11 o'clock services in our KidsLife room. Worship KidStyle puts a whole new spin on kids' worship. It lets kids worship like kids, with fun music videos with motions, attention-holding, life-application videos, and more...we designed it just for kids! From the moment children arrive at Worship KidStyle, they'll be led to worship. Introduction to Worship prepares children for worship and presents the theme for the session through fun, exciting activities. During Worship time, children will sing and move along with cool music videos, watch life-application videos, pray, learn and apply Bible knowledge, learn key Bible verses, hear Bible stories, and more. Finally, the children Wrap-Up their worship experience with a time of review.
At 10 AM, we provided graded classrooms during the small group hour. Bible Teaching for Kids gives kids a balanced approach to the Bible in 4 easy steps! 1. Preview - Lead a simple, fun activity for children who arrive early. 2. Power Up - Begin the session with a fun, creative activity that sets the stage for learning. 3. Plug In - Follow a step-by-step plan for large group Bible study and worship with all the children in a single group. 4. Personalize - Choose from several fun activities to help children apply the Bible study to their lives during small group time.
Awana is fun with a purpose - to reach and train kids for Jesus Christ. Awana takes place on Sunday nights from 5:15-7:30.
The AWANA club for children in Kindergarten through second grade builds on material taught in our preschool clubs, Puggles and Cubbies. The curriculum takes kids a step deeper in God's word while giving unsaved boys and girls regular opportunities to hear the Gospel and come to faith in Jesus Christ. After being immersed in solid foundational teaching at the preschool level, boys and girls frequently come to an understanding of their need to trust Christ as Savior while in Sparks. Along the way, Sparky the friendly firefly, and his three friends have many exciting adventures. Sparky encourages kids to learn verses and complete assignments throughout three handbooks.
The name Truth & Training reflects the passion of Awana to teach third- through sixth-grade boys and girls the truth of God's Word and to train them to follow Christ in their daily lives. Our goal is that many of today's young people will become tomorrow's church leaders. T&T is the program that trains the leaders of tomorrow - today. Evangelism and Discipleship go hand in hand in T&T. By the time they've completed their four handbooks, they will have learned and reviewed over 300 verses, studied dozens of Old Testament and New Testament pasages, regularly heard the Gospel message, discovered Biblical responses to "How does God want me to live my life?" and memorized verses to back up these answers, and completed mission projects that help them see the world through God's eyes.
