Proclaiming the Gospel with Our Finances
Proclaiming the gospel and advancing the kingdom of God is not often associated with how we steward our finances. Jesus taught us that the measure of our love is not dictated by what we receive, but what we are willing to sacrifice (1 Jn 3:16). He also taught that our heart's desire will gravitate towards that in which we invest (Mat 6:21). As we give from the abundance which God has given us it strengthens our devotion to Christ. Through giving, we grow in our faith in God as both the owner and supplier of all good things.
As we encounter the immeasurable flow by which God lavishes His grace upon us, we are freed to live open-handedly with the gifts God gives us. Having believed in the gospel, we choose to invest in eternity where neither moth nor rust destroy and thieves do not break in and steal (Mat 6:20).
We are thankful to have such a strong family of faithful believers here at Second Baptist. It's our prayer that the heart of each and every member of our church would be filled with the joy and cheer that comes from partnering with God to advance His kingdom right here on earth! As people of faith we give faithfully and generously believing that we are blessed to be a blessing (2 Cor 9:11-12)!
